The Power of Prayer at the Chuppah

Master of the Universe, in Your mercy, grant us sufficient strength, health, and ability. Strengthen and embolden our limbs, tendons, and bodies to stand on guard, and let no ache or pain befall us. May we live happily, well, and healthy in Your service. Rescue us from all evil, and lengthen our days in goodness and our years in pleasantness. Fulfill our years; add length of days and years of life for us to serve You. Hide us in the shadow of Your wings, and save us and all the members of our household from all harsh and evil decrees. May we be quiet and tranquil, vigorous and refreshed for Your service and the awe of You.

May it be Your will, Lord our G-d and G-d of our fathers, that my sustenance and livelihood, and the livelihood of the members of my household—along with the sustenance and livelihood of all Your people, the House of Israel—be crowned, justified, and blessed. May it come not through the gifts of flesh and blood, nor through their loans, but only from Your full, open, holy, and generous hand. May my work and all my business be for a blessing and not for poverty, for life and not for death. Grant that the Name of Heaven not be profaned through me, and may I be among those who are helpful and bestow good upon all people always. Fill my hands with Your blessings and satisfy us from Your goodness, as You did for those who left Egypt, for You, O Lord, have blessed and do bless forever. The eyes of all look to You with hope, and You give them their food in its proper time: You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to stumble. [May I be joined with] holy and pure souls. Pray to the Lord for me and because of me; may He raise my pride and uplift my fortune, so that I may serve You with a whole heart all the days of eternity, Amen.

Master of the Universe, merit us that our children may be luminaries in the Torah, and that they may be healthy in body and mind, possessing good character, and engaging in Torah for its own sake. Give them long and good lives, and may they be filled with Torah, wisdom, and the fear of Heaven. May they be beloved Above and pleasant below, and protected from the "Evil Eye," the evil inclination, and all types of misfortune. May they have healthy senses for Your service. Merit us in Your great mercy (and my wife / and my husband) that You fulfill the number of our days (until the completion of seventy years and more) in goodness, pleasantness, love, and peace. May we merit to raise our sons and daughters to the Torah, the wedding canopy, and good deeds. May You provide their matches easily and let them not be pushed aside by others, Heaven forbid. Bless the work of our hands to give them a dowry and gifts with a generous eye, and may we be able to fulfill all that we promise to give them without a vow, and to marry them to their partners in the days of their youth with ease, abundance, and joy. May our sons and daughters give birth to good and righteous children, who merit and bring merit to all of Israel. May our sons and daughters live and endure in Your service, Your Torah, and Your awe for long days and good years. May their descendants multiply until the end of all generations. May Your great Name not be profaned by us or by our offspring, Heaven forbid. Fulfill all the desires of our hearts for good, with health, success, and all goodness. May we merit to magnify the glory of Your great Name and the glory of Your Torah—we, our children, and our children’s children always. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before You, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

May it be Your will, Lord my G-d and G-d of our fathers, that in Your great mercy and Your great kindness, You find for me my appropriate partner in his/her time—a worthy match fit to bear children, a great scholar in Torah and awe, from the seed of the righteous and people of truth and fear of sin. Just as You provided a partner for Adam the first man, and for Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses—each one their partner in their time and season—so may the person You find for my match be: a good person, pleasant in deeds, a possessor of good deeds, graceful, an intelligent person who fears G-d, pursues righteousness, and performs acts of kindness. May there be no trace of blemish, flaw, or defect in him/her, and let him/her not be angry or irritable, but only a possessor of humility and lowliness of spirit, healthy and strong. Let the cruelty of people, enemies, and their thoughts and schemes not delay the partner destined for me. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before You, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

May it be Your will, Lord our G-d and G-d of our fathers, Merciful Father, who hears prayer, that my prayer be acceptable and beloved before You, and be received with favor and mercy quickly. In our days, please desire to redeem us with a complete redemption—a redemption of kindness and great mercy full of compassion. Have mercy on Zion, for it is time to be gracious to her, for the appointed time has come—for the sake of Your Divine Presence, for the sake of Your Temple, for the sake of Your Land, and for the sake of Your people who desire Your closeness and hope to see the beauty of Your strength. Gladden us, our Father, with Your salvation—our cry—and send us Elijah the Prophet, remembered for good, with Mashiach ben David. Let us exult and rejoice in Your salvation, quickly in our days. And I have trusted in Your kindness; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for He has dealt bountifully with me. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before You, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
